2004-04-24 - 3:48 p.m. Quote for the day: "You can discover what your enemy fears most by observing the means he uses to frighten you." -Eric Hoffer The sabotager’s=I know the grammar kings and queens will love that haha The aroma of the dessert is overwhelming its thick and gooey and full of chocolate and nuts. It’s a forbidden food and normally I stay clear from something that looks as yummy as this, but what do you do when the person trying to sabotage you is your own family member! They see that your trying to lose weight they see that you are trying to eat healthy, and didn’t you just talk for about an half hour about how your changing what you eat, yet it doesn’t even phase them as they thrust some sort of dessert in your face. Your speechless, your shocked, the other day I almost had tears spring to my eyes, how could they! I was all bummed out when that same day though I picked up a Prevention magazine on walking, and behold an article on Sabotage people. It seems most of these people have good intentions. It seems when people offer you food its their way of saying, “I love you” Ok so I can understand that. Some friends though they love you as a friend don’t want you to change in the back of their mind. What else but food will join to people in comradeship? Then there are the people that say, “Come on one piece won’t hurt. Most times they are trying to hide their own insecurity about not dieting and eating right. Now that I have thought back on it I have done that to some people. Bad Sam! Bad Sam! Gosh I won’t do that again. Instead they say to offer then something else or offer to eat half of something with them. My new saying has been recently, “Don’t deny yourself, moderate yourself! Farm life: We finally moved the chicks to their new chicken coop in between storms today, the little brooder house was starting to smell horrible it was way past them to move but with it raining each weekend for over a month now it was hard to do. Tasha the dog and the renegade chickens were their first visitors. One of the mother hens chicks broke its leg I think. I picked it up yesterday as it was chirping by it self. It looked lifeless the leg. I placed it in the coop with a mother hen that is brooding right now. Hen’s will adopt anything. At least the chick will die warm and with a mother. Mother hen’s will adopt anything even when larger. We once had these ducks that were raised by a mother hen. They refused to go to water. That is a long story though hehehe. Pup’s have been coming out a lot from their dog house and they wag their tail and just love you if you come on by and pet them. The kittens are crybaby’s they cry and scream if you pick them up act like they are murdering them, and “Little mommy” their mommy will come up and give you a dirty look. Baby sheep is still doing fine. Tom has to move the sheep again, but hasn’t due to rain. Family: Speaking of rain we had a really bad electric storm last night. The worst electric storm in years that I can remember, we unplugged everything learning are lesson from years ago, it doesn’t matter if it has surge protector unplug it! Tommy was burning up with fever still, has been for two days, plus the storm scared him. I spent the night on my side and was all-stiff with him between us. Randy came early to our room then went back to her room when one storm went by surprisingly didn’t wake up for second. I bought movies so going to watch it before next storm rolls in. I think, my theory, is Tommy got sick from drinking bad water outside. He has no other symptoms. Randy got sick once from still water at a river we were camping at, also from pool we were in that wasn’t clean enough. We try to dump everything in back yard when rains come, but that darn boy keeps finding it, and will drink it. You would think I was not giving him fresh water or something….grrrrrrr anyways he is better today. If he’s not fine by Monday we will go to doctors. Home Schooling: We bought Randy some new Nancy drew notebooks and she is in heaven with those for her reading assignments. Her writing is getting much better now that she is cursive writing smaller. Who would have thought that it was so simple as to switch paper on her to get better? She is doing better on her math. We were studying before civil war era, and I have to admit I am finding out some things I didn’t no about. Sorry Mr. Burris(Former history teacher that I adored in high school) but you didn’t teach us everything! Health: I broke down not finding my pedometer anywhere and bought another one for $12.00 at Target. I love it, I didn’t have to set it up. First day I went over 10,000 steps, that’s cause I went shopping hahaha..I bet it will come out today as only 7000, or 8,000 steps at the end of today. I lost 5 lbs and lost 5 inches waist and hips this week. I know it’s a lot to lose in one week, but it’s a lot of water mostly by next week I will be down only 1 lb or 2 lbs. I love my new diet place I go but I don’t like the message board much, hardly anyone goes there, and that won’t motivate me. I am going to include my “Walking Across the United States chart on here and just update it each day or few days to let you know where I am at, its fun I think and I crack myself up with my story’s of where I go in my cyber adventure.
