2004-06-28 - 6:13 p.m. Quote for the day: The Great Chicken round up Yes, I know it¡¦s been a while since I last wrote in my diary. I have looked at the computer and longed to get on and write however with dial up still the longing sort of it vanished with knowledge that I had so many other things I had to do and dial up would take up most of my time. One night just after the sun went down my daughter and I headed in the pick up towards the chicken coop. Armed with only one flash light and the beam of light from the truck, we put the now teenage chicks into the big coop with the others¡KOne, two, three, four chickens carried in two human hands I have found out. They were not happy chicks. Once long ago we had to do this after it rained. Talk about chicks that smelled!!!! That is a memory smell I don¡¦t want to be reminded about it. Starting out with about one hundred chicks we had 92 left. Today I have lost one so far which is not so bad. The guinea hens were bullys the first couple of days. It took me four nights of going over to the coop at night to make sure they made it in. The first night they lingered together next to the door entrance in shock and bewilderness. One chore off my list yah! However right after that my daughter and husband flew to Wash state for a two week vacation leaving me with the boy and the rest of chores which included Randy¡¦s Yes I was not happy about it, but husband needed to get away for awhile they had been working him to death and Randy has been such a good helper. She had just come back from summer camp with the girl scouts where she was rained out for three days. To bad too cause she was in a swimming program. She had tons of fun though. What is that saying absents make the heart grow fonder? Did I spell that right maybe not hahaha¡KHusband and I are completely in love with each other again plus I have caught up with a lot of the girly movies I wanted to see but couldn¡¦t cause I had to get some movies that husband had to agree on too. ƒº.. I had Decided Tommy and I were going to take a mini vacation too. Just before they left the house was completely unpacked and cleaned. Two days later my sister came to visit with her two kids and husband then we had a big birthday party. Still the house didn¡¦t get that dirty and I lived off of frozen lean cuisine and tommy kids cuisines. Tommy got to sleep in the big bed with me. I felt he was safer with me then me having to worry about him way across the house. It was hard to get to sleep the first three nights by myself but I adjusted after that of course our new puppy kept freaking me out by barking his little body completely moving up and down each time he barked. Like I really think he could protect us¡K.hmph¡Kat least he did more then that other worthless dog we have Tasha who would lick someone to death then show them the way into our house with no problem¡Kstupid dog¡Kas the cartoon says. She¡¦s ok though, she is good with Tommy and that counts. Tom and Randy are back yah back to normal again! I lost one pound and one inch off my waist with them being gone¡Khahaha¡K I¡¦ve finally caught up with my postcard kids email. I couldn¡¦t put it off no more. So many emails and more that the Home Education main magazine came out with an article with us in it. Talk about getting tons of emails! I am really proud of the group and love to hear when people say they have completed getting their 50 states and are just lingering around to help others. Such good hearts those people. Farm update: Goats keep getting heads stuck in fence they are driving me nuts! Grass is greener on other side¡Kah nooooooo¡KChickens still laying good. Sheep ok, Got rid of two kittens, one puppy, one stray white cat that tried to adopt us¡KNO¡K..and Clovey the worthless dog that killed over 10 of my chickens. Hopefully they will stay in their new homes¡KI got to go husbands computer is filled up with some virus stuff again or some ad ware stuff sheshhhh¡KI can¡¦t even write here. I want my computer back!!!! And ISDN!!!!
